​Meet the Trainer

Certified dog trainer Kieli Atherton has attended three of the top dog training schools in the country.

 

Kieli is  a committee member with the International Association of Canine Professionals. An organization committed to quality dog training and education. She has attended seminars hosted by Cesar Millan, Michael Ellis, and animal behaviorist Ken Ramirez of the Karen Pryor Academy. Giving her a well rounded knowledge in dog behavior.

 

Starting her career in 2006, she has since trained dogs in basic and advanced obedience, search & rescue, agility, dock diving, scent detection, personal protection, and specializes in behavior modification.

 

Training methods focus on keeping it fun by being fair and balanced with training, understanding what motivates your dog, and teaching you how to be consistent with expectations as an owner.

 

Over the years Kieli's personal dogs have been trained for search & rescue, dock diving, agility and competition obedience. She currently competes with her Belgian Malinios in PSA, an obedience and protection dog sport.

Meet the Trainer

Trainer Ashleigh Goss is curranty working on her CDT title through the IACP.

 

Ashleigh grew up around animals on her family's farm. Her love for animals lead her into the field of veterinary sciences after graduating high school. She worked as a veterinary technician for several years before realizing her true passion was working with dogs on a behavioral level. 

 

Ashleigh has been active in dog sports for the past 3 years. She has completed the E-Collar Training Course and Leash Reactivity Couse, offered by the Michael Ellis School for Dog Trainers. The Rescue to Home Course offered by Leerburg University. And the Training With Tools Course offered by the International Association of Canine Professionals. Ashleigh attends educational opportunities whenever  possible and has been apprenticing with the Canine Training Co. since February 2022. 

 

 Along with helping owners find succuss with their training goals, Ashleigh focuses on utilizing balanced training to creating positive associations between human and dog. 

​Meet the Trainer

Laura has been an animal lover her whole life. Before graduating high school, Laura volunteered at her local shelter and worked as a dog walker and sitter. 

After graduation, Laura continued her passion for animals and got a job working as a veterinary receptionist for 9 years. It’s there she realized she wanted to do something more hands-on with dogs. In 2021 she attended Top Tier K9. Completing the pet trainer certification course and started her career as a professional dog trainer.

 

Laura recently relocated from Illinois to North Carolina to become a part of the Canine Training Co. team so she could expand her knowledge as a dog trainer. Laura has successfully completed the E-Collar Training Course and Leash Reactivity Course by the Michael Ellis School for Dog Trainers. Along with the Rescue to Home Course through Leerburg University. She hopes to start dabbling in different dog sports now that she lives in NC.

 

Laura believes in balanced training methods. Keeping it positive and fun in order to improve the relationship between dog and owner.
